Deciding to go for a workout is a fantastic thing to do for your body and mind, but have you ever thought to yourself that you simply don’t know when to do it? There is no right or wrong time to exercise, but depending on the goals you have, you might want to fit in your exercise at different times during the day.
Morning workouts are a great way to wake up your body (if you can face jumping out of bed at the crack of dawn!) and usually, this is a time when the gym or road is fairly quiet. You have a nice time to think and plan the rest of your day, plus you have the added benefit of feeling smug for the rest of the day.
Lunchtime workouts are a good plan for those who perhaps work in an office, where you wish to get away from a desk and do something different. Provided you can eat your lunch at another time, donning your trainers and going for a brisk walk or jog can pep you up for the afternoon and keep you feeling alert.
Evening workouts are good if you want to wind down after a long day – perhaps a gentle yoga sequence could help get you in the mood for sleep and relaxation?
